Necessary inputs were delivered to farmers from the Arbaminch Agricultural Research Center and relevant researchers can follow-up and works in close relationship with farmers. Yield data, partial budget analysis, famers perception and preferences were collected throughout the demonstration stages. The average yield performances of the hawassa dume, tatu and remeda were 26.33qt/hec, 21.16qt/hec and 28.80qt/hec respectively. Many commonly grown fruits and vegetables require pesticide protection. The consequences of using pesticides for food production can be far-reaching, and farm produce may contain pesticide residues that pose serious health and environmental risks. In this paper, we review the Electrical Penetration Graph (EPG) and explore the potential for its use in food safety. Several pesticide residues were found on produce obtained from farmers’ markets. The results indicate that the EPG could be a useful tool for detecting pesticide residues.
